poofy review Dyson DC39 Multi floor canister
I purchased this on Black Friday this year and am thrilled with it's performance. Someone else said it would suck the chrome off a bumper. It's true. My husband declared, "I really like this vacuum." This speaks volumes. He's one of those type B personalities that seldom gets excited.
We bought the Dyson Articulating Hard Floor Tool and are thrilled! We have stone in the kitchen and dark hardwoods in the other rooms downstairs. It removes all dust and leaves the floor looking incredible! NO dust on the dark floors. Yeah!!! My floors have never looked cleaner.
There are some things you need to know. Two areas of the vacuum are prone to jams. Once obstruction occurs the rug attachment will not spin and suction power is greatly reduced. Pennies will get stuck on the rug "beaters" inlet. It's happened 3 times in the last couple of weeks. It causes a change in the engine noise and a whining noise can occur. You need to use a flash light to see obstructions. Remove the hose and shine the flashlight at the beater bar through the center of the attachment's tube. Use a screwdriver to gently push the penny out of the tube towards the carpet beater. Problem solved.
The other place we've had an obstruction (lip gloss tube) was at the connection to the body. There is a flattened area that bends upwards to the engine where the hose connects to the body. That is where the lip gloss came to rest. Remove the hose and shine your flashlight into the flattened piece of hose. You can also look down from the proximal part of the tube. You should be able to see it.
Knowing these areas are prone to jams and knowing how to look for them will help to keep your faith in this vacuum. My old rugs that have been beaten down by 5 children have new signs of life. My hardwoods are dust free and I don't find any signs of dirt. It's only been a couple of weeks but I'm really impressed. Vacuuming is actually rewarding us with clean floors.

I needed a canister vac for my house since the first floor is all tile or laminate, with area rugs. I wanted something I could vacuum both the floor and the rugs with, without having to stand on the edge of the rug, or change out heads, etc. THIS IS IT! It does both floors and rugs easily, and the suction is great. Gets the rugs clean, but doesn't suck the rug up off the floor and into the spinner brushes. It follows so easily, is light and love the retractable cord and roller brush on/off at the handle. Empties simply and easily as my upright Dyson. Love love love this vacuum! I have not tried it on a carpeted room, just on area rugs and floors.
BalasHapusThis is by far the best vacuum cleaner I've ever owned! Powerful, easy to use, gets in the corners and under things. Pulls along like a dog on a leash. Pretty easy to clean, I empty it outside. And no bags to buy, a very big plus! I love the turbine head rather than the head with its own motor, which seem to break down and is expensive to replace. It works great on rugs or bare floors. I also like being able to turn off the turbine by pulling up on a lever in the handle. No bending over pushing levers and buttons, like my old upright. I have just a few small complaints: I would prefer the on-off switch on the handle, and there's no way to control the suction. But, not enough problems to cancel out the very big plusses. It's a bit pricey to start, but discounts are available if you shop around. I paid $326 from Amazon because I caught a sale and used ebates and points on my Amazon credit card. This machine is worth every penny!
BalasHapusAn upright didn't really work for all of the surfaces around my house. Attached hoses are basically inconvenient to use switching from carpet, to hardwood floors, to stairs, to dusting. (Really missed my ancient Electrolux canister vac after it finally gave up after several repairs.) Wanted another canister.
BalasHapusThis vacuum does it all! Expected it to do well on hard surfaces, but it also is great on carpets. Wondered about how much capacity the dirt container would hold and was quite surprised at how much debris it picked up before needing to be (easily) emptied. Have three cats and live in the country and will admit that vacuuming is not my favorite chore, so that is a LOT of stuff!
The included floor tool swivels in all directions and goes almost flat to make getting under furniture so easy. The small firm attachment does an excellent job sucking up cat hair from furniture. It is light, follows like a devoted pet, the hose and cord are long enough. Now I need to find a perfect name for it. Absolutely recommend this vacuum cleaner!
If there was one additional tool to recommend, it would be the Articulating Hard Floor Tool. Worth it if one has lots of non carpet flooring.
This is the first full size vacuum I have owned and it was a great choice. It is surprisingly quiet for the power it has and was ridiculously easy to assemble. My toddler(2) is obsessed with vacuuming now and he maneuvered it around his whole room with minimal effort. It is also fabulous on hardwood and and whole head/handle fits underneath my furniture which is amazing. And the ball technology is nice and glides around with ease. I could really go on forever and I have only used it a few times so I will just say that I am thoroughly impressed and glad I spent the extra money(which I was hesitant about).
BalasHapusI hope this helps anyone else who isnt sure if its the right decision or not. As far as the upright versus the canister, I love the canister because the weightlessness of the head/wand makes it a lot less tiring to maneuver and clean in general. Happy Shopping!Dyson DC39 Multi floor canister vacuum cleaner
I just came from a Dyson DC07 that I had for 4 1/2 years, it still worked but was pretty dirty and I wanted something new :). I tried out the Dyson DC40 that I bought my mother, and it is a wonderful vacuum. It is a great vacuum, just not the best vacuum for hardwood floors. I've never used a canister vacuum but this has been amazing. The suction is almost too powerful as it has a lever on the handle that you can pull to reduce the suction. Sometimes it gets stuck to my area rug in the living room. To test out how well it works, I swept the whole house with the bissell I bought for $65 3 months ago (I use it in the basement). I then swept with this new dyson. WOW! I had to empty the canister twice. This sweeper works so much better on the hardwoods than my previous dyson or the Bissell. It is easy to turn off the brush on the turbine head, the attachments are excellent and the button to wind up the cord is awesome! The canister itself is larger than I expected, but the sweeper itself is a lot quieter than either of the other vacuums, even the Dyson DC40 my mother has. It is sooo quiet. I love this vacuum!
