Whatever you think of Mr. Dyson, he makes a wonderful vacuum!

Dyson DC35 Multi floor Reconditioned

I ordered and tried a couple of cheapo's prior to this one. I must say, hands down, Dyson wins, no comparison. These electric vac's are not really meant to use as whole house vac's, but as for my tile kitchen floor and around the fire place, it's AWESOME!! I love it. And I hung it on the inside of my broom closet door via the mount that comes with it, SO handy! It's a great lil sucker, and that's a good thang. No, it will not stand up by itself, but I just rest it on my counter top whenever I need to set it aside to move the chairs or whatever and it stays put that way, then when done, a simple dump and then hang back up on the charging station. Easy peasy!
Oh, and yes, this is a reconditioned machine (looked brand new), and the only thing wrong with it was the little thumb latch on the bottom part of the long shaft was broken, when I called, they registered it with me and then told me they are sending a replacement shaft free of charge. Cool :) I'm very happy with this, and with the Dyson company. I have owned one of the yellow full sized Dyson's for several years now, that thing is tops in my book as well. Good products as far as I'm concerned, and good customer service in my experiences. Thanks ~~~

  2. I purchased one of these refurbished units to save a few bucks.
Upon opening and inspecting the unit, it looked brand new.
There was a notice that the clear plastic collection bin may be cloudy due to being used, but that was not the case with this one.
I charged it up and it works great.
Good suction when using for hardwood/tile floors or with the attachments.
It may not be great for carpeting, but we don't have any because we have dogs. Dogs + carpet = too much work.
Larger debris will get stuck in the beater bar, but this unit is meant for light cleaning and/or touchup.
The documentation says ~6 minutes on max or 13 minutes on regular setting.
I ran it on max for about 10 minutes before it needed to be recharged. If you need to vacuum for a long time, get a corded one.

Pros : Sturdy construction, easy to change accessories, easy to empty collection bin, easily removable beater bar for easy cleaning, comes with wall hanger for charging, good suction for a cordless, 6 month warranty on refurbed unit.
Cons : It didn't make me sammiches.

  3. I took a chance and bought this refurbished because of the great reviews. When it came it looked brand new.
It is so easy to assemble...maybe five minutes total.
The reason for purchase was that my old Dyson was just too heavy and cumbersome to use on a daily basis for large or small jobs.
The DC35 exceeeded all my expectations. The power is awesome. Works on carpet wood and tile.
    I love it!!!!!

  4. Immediately after purchasing a cabin in Wine Country I figured I would need a good vacuum cleaner which would be flexible enough to perform all the various cleaning jobs required for a dusty cabin in the middle of the redwood trees.

I have the handheld Dyson Dyson DC34 cordless vacuum cleaner for my condo in the city and after 4 years and just one replacement battery it has served me [and continues to serve me] very well indeed. Having recently seen a TV ad for the DC35 I thought it would be the perfect addition to my new property. I bought my previous Dyson refurbished and was thoroughly happy with that decision, so I decided to go the refurb route again. I purchased it prior to closing on the cabin.

The Dyson arrived as new, and brilliantly packaged [albeit in generic brown cardboard - which was ok with me].

The day I moved into my new property, one of the first things I did was unpack the Dyson and got it straight to work. It performed wonderfully. The variety of tools it comes with are all functional and well designed to do the full gamut of cleaning tasks.

With the extended long-reach wand tool I was able to reach up high to clear the many cobwebs around the doors and windows. The other great advantage of this tool is the capability is sucking up at arms length all the various creepy-crawlies that one encounters in a rural home. I don't have arachnophobia, but I really didn't want to get any closer to some of those humungous spiders than I had to!

The other great benefit is the wireless nature of the device. Being able to cover the whole house without have to go from outlet to outlet is a huge plus. I fixed it to the recharging unit in between jobs and never ran out of the power. The recharging unit itself is modern marvel of design and doubles as a neat housing for all the tools when not in use.

... and one more thing [as Steve Jobs RIP used to say!] ... it's much quieter than the DC34. My nervous dog runs and hides in the bathroom when I get that one out - with this one he keeps a close eye on it but manages enough bravery to remain in is bed!
